Victoria Harrison is an abstract landscapes artist. She was born in northern Spain and grew up in South West England, with long summers spent in very remote parts of Aragon.  Victoria and her family would always sail and Victoria became mesmerised by the churning deep blue seas of the Bay of Biscay, their movement and power thumping the boat, then foaming back.

As a child, Victoria would accompany her parents on excavations where she could roam free outdoors and chat to volunteers from all walks of life from around the world.  It was here that she began sketching landscapes with the support and encouragement of my family and friends, trying out new materials and techniques. 

A few years ago, an oil pastel on cartridge paper by Victoria (at the age of 16) was immortalised in print: Frontispiece, titled 'View of Majaladares' Published 2007—Majaladares (Spain). A Bronze Age Village of Farmers, Hunters and Herders.ISSN 0939-0561X; ISBN 978-3-89646-379-1

Victoria says:
"I have always thought of drawing and painting as a selfish need to express myself and generally kept it as a private hobby.  After school I attended life-drawing classes run by a freelance artist with a contagious zest for life and the kindest heart.  His were the few classes that didn’t have a minimum age requirement and he was not only incredibly encouraging, pushing me to be bolder, bigger, more abstract, but I thank and attribute my style to his teaching.  Enhancing what I saw and what interested or intrigued me. I went to his classes for ten years."

Victoria has experience of commissions, and was recently asked to produce three large framed landscapes for the Head Office of a global bank.
